Stefanyshina said that Ukraine has no illusions that the NATO army will fight on its territory. Nevertheless, it is in the interest of the countries of the Alliance to ensure the defense capability of our country.

Stefanishina positively assessed several “red lines” highlighted during the negotiations. We speak in particular of “the impossibility of revising the “open door policy”, of the compulsory measures to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank in the event of an escalation by Russia, and of the impossibility of concluding new arrangements security in Europe”.

Stefanyshina said that Ukraine insists on a politico-diplomatic settlement of the conflict in the Donbass and issues related to the return from Crimea. This is why consolidating the positions of international partners on the basis of discussions is so important.

Stefanisina added:

At the end of the negotiations, we considered that the policy of the Russian Federation was becoming even more aggressive and urged international partners to increase the pressure of sanctions

Stefanishina also said that during the negotiations, all EU foreign ministers identified ten principles on the basis of which any negotiation with the Russian Federation is possible. In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Kyiv is currently negotiating with a number of other NATO countries.

Earlier, we reported that Canada sent special forces to Ukraine amid Russian aggression. They flew not for exercises, but to perform other tasks.
