The RBC Canadian Open logo shows Nick Taylor’s victory

by Ainsley Ingram

Nick Taylor’s epic putt to win the RBC Canadian Open this summer was already iconic.

Now it has been integrated into an icon.

Golf Canada, title sponsor RBC and tournament organizers announced Friday a tweak to the event’s logo for 2024 that features Taylor’s silhouette.

The previous logo featured an old-school golfer wearing a newsboy cap in place of the “I” in “Canadian.” Taylor’s putter-dropping image is now in place.

Tim McLaughlin, Golf Canada’s chief marketing officer, said in a press release the organization was pleased to recognize Taylor’s win. Taylor, of Abbotsford, B.C., defeated England’s Tommy Fleetwood with a 72-foot eagle on the fourth playoff hole at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

He became the first Canadian in 69 years to win the men’s national open championship.

“Nick’s historic victory will be celebrated leading up to and during the 2024 RBC Canadian Open and the redesigned logo is a fitting tribute to both Nick and this very special moment in our National Open,” McLaughlin said.

The updated branding will be featured prominently as part of the tournament’s marketing efforts leading up to the 2024 event. The 2024 RBC Canadian Open will take place from May 28 to June 2 at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario.
