KOMPAS.com – Roundnet is the latest sport enjoyed by the community and sports fans nationwide. not only fun and leisure, roundnet management in Indonesia is getting stronger and Merah Putih has even been invited to the World Cup Roundnet in Belgium.

The formation of PORTI (Indonesian Roundnet Sports Association) along with the joining of Merah Putih as one of the core members of the Asian Roundnet Federation further solidifies the existence of the sport in the United States.

Roundnet itself is a sport that started being played in 1989 with a family recreational toy product called Spikeball from USA.

Along with its development, Spikeball then evolved into a globally recognized sport under the name Roundnet.

Roundnet itself is a combination of several sports elements already popular in the country, such as volleyball, table tennis, badminton, tennis.

The number of players is two people per team and has a maximum touchdown of 3 times as in volleyball.

Roundnet is often called mini beach volleyball. The calculation of the value of the winner is determined by the number of points 21 (tournament standard) with a rally point system.

The tournament standard is two rounds of play plus a decider or rubber game if necessary.

The particularity of Roundnet is that there is no term of referee, but the name is Observer (observer).

As for gear, the roundnet itself doesn’t require a lot of gear.

Just a circle like a trampoline with a net with a diameter of 90cm and a height of 21cm from the ground with a rubber ball.

The roundnet field can be anywhere and there are no output lines. Ideally, an official tournament match takes place on grass or sand.

Several Indonesian public figures who regularly play roundnet are Yolla Yuliana (professional volleyball player), Ijan Mandagi (national hockey athlete), Handika Pratama (sinetron artist) and Denny Rahmat (Graveyard Band staff).

The legitimacy of roundnet sports in the country was confirmed by the establishment of the All-Indonesian Roundnet Sports Association (PORSI) in mid-December 2021.

PORSI was formed in the opening of 10 roundnet clubs in Indonesia including Blastball Bandung, Rovers Bandung, Robin Bandung, Eastside Bandung, Padalarang Roundnet, Soreang Roundnet, Cirebon Roundnet, Bogor Roundnet, West Jakarta Roundnet and University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Malang Round fillet.

He asked the management of PORSI to immediately make a classification to enter the Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI) or KONI.

Roundnet also hosted the West Java Governor’s Cup on January 15-16, 2022.
