Ottawa to host 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship

The best male curlers in the world will come to Ottawa next year.

The World Curling Federation and Curling Canada have announced that TD Place will host the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship from April 1-9.

Ottawa was scheduled to host the 2021 World Men’s Curling Championship, but the event was moved to Calgary to be part of a “series of bubble concept events” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials say .

“Ottawa made it clear to us that while they understood the decision that had to be made for the 2021 championship, they wanted this men’s world championship in their city as quickly as possible,” said Katherine Henderson, CEO. of Curling Canada.

“Based on our previous trips to Ottawa for Season of Champions events, I know the 2023 Men’s World Championship will be worth the wait and our capital will put on a world-class spectacle.”

Ottawa has hosted the Tim Hortons Brier four times, the last in 2016. The Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials was held at the Canadian Tire Center in 2017.

“I am thrilled that Ottawa is finally hosting the World Men’s Curling Championship at TD Place in 2024,” said Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. the best curling talent in the world and thousands of dedicated fans next year.
