Lindsay Canadian Club learns about climate change and health – Lindsay Advocate

HKPR health promoter Sue Shikaze will address the Lindsay Canadian Club on March 13.

The Lindsay Canadian Club invites the public to the fifth event of its 2023-2024 season, “Connecting The Dots: Climate Change & Health,” taking place on March 13, 2024.

Guest speaker Sue Shikaze, health promoter at the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, will discuss the impact of climate change on the health of those most at risk and what we can do as individuals and as a community to ensure that our health is protected from climate risks.

Shikaze leads the HKPR’s work to assess the local impacts of climate change on health and develop adaptation plans. She is an experienced facilitator and facilitator who has worked with various groups in different settings. She lives in the Haliburton Highlands and enjoys spending time outdoors on hiking trails and by the water in all seasons. Shikaze is also an avid runner and cyclist and uses both for recreation and active transportation.

The Lindsay Canadian Club meets at the Royal Canadian Legion (12 York Street, Lindsay) and encourages everyone to grab a bite to eat downtown before coming to the events, which begin at 7 p.m

Non-members can purchase tickets through the Lindsay Canadian Club website or at the door. Tickets for this event are $10 ($5 for students), and a season membership can be purchased for $50 ($25 for students).
