The Toronto Raptors may not be in a playoff spot right now, but they have a mini two-game winning streak going into Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. On Thursday they defeated the Brooklyn Nets 121-93 and on Friday they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 123-121. As a result, the Raptors improve to a record of 21 wins and 36 losses and are four games behind the Hawks for the final spot in the play-in tournament. The only team between the Hawks and Raptors in the standings is the Nets, who are just half a game ahead of Toronto.
Four Raptors reached double figures in points in the Raptors’ 28-point win over the Nets. Gary Trent Jr. had 25 points, Immanuel Quickley had 24 points, Scottie Barnes had 18 points and RJ Barrett of Toronto, Ontario had 12 points. Barnes had a double-double as he had 12 rebounds. The most impressive quarter for the Raptors was the fourth quarter when they outscored Brooklyn 39-22.
In the Raptors’ win over the Hawks, eight Raptors players reached double figures in scoring. Quickley had 24 points, Barnes had 20 points, Gradey Dick had 18 points, Ochai Agbaji had 14 points, Trent Jr. had 13 points, Bruce Brown and Jacob Poeltl each had 12 points and Toronto’s Kelly Olynyk had 10 points.
The Pacers are in sixth place in the East with 33 wins and 25 losses. They have two Canadians: Bennedict Mathurin from Montreal, Quebec, and Andrew Nembhard from Aurora, Ontario.
