For the fourth time in her career, Rachel Homan is the winner of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. On Sunday at the Markin MacPhail Center in Calgary, Alberta, Homan’s Team Ontario defeated Jennifer Jones of Manitoba 5-4 in the final of the 2024 Canadian National Women’s Curling Championship.

This was the third time Homan defeated Jones at the 2024 Scotties. She also defeated Jones on Tuesday with a 7-5 win in Pool A and in the 1-2 game on Saturday when Homan prevailed 6-4 in 11 games.

Homan and Jones both qualified for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in a new qualifying format. They received wildcard spots based on their results in the 2022–23 Canadian Team Rankings and therefore were not required to compete in the provincial qualifiers.

It was a strong week for Homan, winning all eleven games. This was also the second time in her career that Homan went undefeated at a Scotties Tournament of Hearts. She also remained undefeated in Montreal, Quebec in 2014. Homan pitched a perfect game in both tournaments. With the win, Homan will represent Canada at the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championships March 16-24 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Switzerland has won the gold medal in eight of the last 11 World Women’s Curling Championships.
