Prime Minister Canada, Justin trudeau, was thrown a stone by a resident as he was about to leave the site of the electoral campaign before the by-election.
As reported AFPMonday (9/13), the incident happened on Saturday (9/11) last week in the city of London, southwest of Toronto, in the province of Ontario.
According to reports, the perpetrator was a man named Shane Marshall (25). He admitted to throwing stones at Trudeau who was about to board the campaign team bus.
Trudeau was not injured in the incident. However, the 49-year-old said he felt like he was being thrown by pebbles.
He then said the act was unacceptable as it endangered other people in political campaign activities.
The day before, a protester had been arrested and charged with threatening Trudeau who was leading a political campaign in Cambridge, Ontario.
Trudeau has recently become the target of public anger over his government’s policy of requiring vaccination against Covid-19 and other issues. He and Conservative Party candidate Erin O’Toole are competing for the Prime Minister’s seat.
Trudeau is currently seeking to win the by-elections and continue his third term as Canadian Prime Minister.
