Jakarta (ANTARA) – The joint operation codenamed Lilin Jaya 2021, which will be organized by Polda Metro Jaya with Kodam Jaya and the provincial government of DKI Jakarta from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022 will limit the opening hours of entertainment venues, shopping malls and other crowded places in the capital until 12:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. WIB.
“Malls and other crowded places will be restricted to closing hours until 10:00 p.m. WIB,” Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol public relations officer Endra Zulpan in Jakarta said on Tuesday.
Zulpan also added that restrictions on opening hours will also be applied to types of businesses such as hotels, entertainment venues and leisure.
Restrictions on business premises opening hours during the 2021 Operation Lilin Jaya will also be adjusted to the policies of local governments in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya, including Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, Depok City, South Tangerang City and Tangerang City.
“The restrictions are adjusted to the level of the PPKM imposed by the regional government,” he said.
Operation Lilin Jaya 2021 Coordination Meeting, Polda Metro Jaya-Kodam Jaya and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also agreed to ban and abolish the 2022 New Year’s Eve celebration.
In addition to the ban on hosting a New Year’s Eve party, all social activities that cause crowds or are entertaining in nature are prohibited during the joint operation.
Operation Lilin Jaya 2021 is organized with the main purpose of maintaining public safety and health as well as preventing the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and preventing the spread of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.
