Jordan Binnington records the 15th NHL shutout of his career

Jordan Binnington of Richmond Hill, Ont., recorded his 15th career National Hockey League shutout on Thursday. He achieved this with a 4-0 victory for the St. Louis Blues over the New York Islanders.

Binnington totaled 38 saves. He made six saves in the first period, 20 in the second period and 12 saves in the third period. Four Islanders led the team with five shots on goal. They were Bo Horvat from London, Ontario, Mathew Barzal from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Kyle Palmieri and Brock Nelson.

Two Canadians on the Blues had a multi-goal game. They were Robert Thomas of Aurora, Ontario, who had three assists, and Jordan Kyrou of Toronto, Ontario, who had two assists.

In the 2023-24 season, Binnington has a record of 20 wins, 15 regulation losses and two overtime losses. He has a 2.85 goals average, a .911 save percentage and three shutouts. Binnington’s other shutouts this season included a 5-0 Blues victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 14th and a 3-0 Blues victory over the Washington Capitals on January 20th. All 15 of Binnington’s NHL career shutouts came with the Blues.

With the win, the Blues improve to a record of 30 wins, 24 regulation losses and two overtime losses. They have 62 points and are in eighth place in the Western Conference.
