TORONTO – Five things to watch for in Canadian business in the coming week:

Sun Life Results

Insurer Sun Life Financial Inc. will report its third-quarter results after financial markets close on Monday. The company reported second-quarter net income of $660 million, down from $930 million a year earlier, while underlying net income for the quarter ended June 30 was $920 million Decrease from $808 million in the year-ago quarter.

CPP investments

John Graham, CEO of CPP Investments, will provide an update on the performance of the Canada Pension Plan fund in Calgary on Tuesday. Alberta is considering a plan for the province to exit the Canada Pension Plan and establish its own provincial alternative.

Loblaw results
