Dbrand won’t give up.
A few days ago, we learned that a Canadian company, Dbrand, had received a love letter from Sony and threatened them to stop selling the PS5 black body. Dbrand complied and stopped selling it.

But days after the news broke, Dbrand came back with a new product called Darkplates 2.0 and joked Sony’s lawyer.
Through the official post of the reddit sub-forum, they explained why Dbrand had previously dared to challenge Sony to sue them. Dbrand dared to do this because Sony did not have a PS5 body design patent when they released Darkplates.
Once Darkplates exploded and was cheered on by media around the world, Sony had just filed for a patent for the PS5’s body design, then threatened Dbrand with legal action.
Learning from this, Dbrand uploaded the Darkplates 2.0 design which is now slimmer with no “collar” that goes beyond the PS5 console. They also provide ventilation to the sides to dissipate heat to maintain a more stable temperature.
Not only that, Darkplates 2.0 will also have unlimited color variants with black, but also white and gray.
Dbrand also added a light strip to the interior and assumes they won’t get another love letter from Sony just because of the lights.
