Curitiba hosts Brazil’s biggest smart city event next week

One week before the 3rd edition of Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022the biggest brazilian event of Smart citieswhich should bring together 10,000 people from around thirty countries on March 24 and 25, at the Positivo Events Center (Parque Barigüi), mixing face-to-face and remote audiences.

The event has been organized since 2018 by iCities Smart Cities Solutions – a pioneering business and solutions hub in smart cities in Brazil.

The event’s congress area will bring together more than 100 specialists from all over the world showcasing the latest smart technologies for cities, innovation and disruptive business, governance in a smart society, smart mobility for the future and sustainable cities. One of the biggest names in innovation in Silicon Valley, California, USA), Indian-Canadian entrepreneur Salim Ismail will be one of the keynote speakers at the event. He is one of the founders of Singularity University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world in the field of innovation.

In addition to Ismail – who is the author of the bestseller “Exponential Organizations”, appointed in 2017 to the board of directors of the XPRIZE Foundation – the SCECWB will have the presence of Gil Peñalosa, one of the internationally renowned urban planners, who will make the opening panel. Founder and president of the Canadian non-profit organization 8 80 Cities, Peñalosa works in 345 cities around the world.

Experience with 5G

With free entry, the exhibition area will feature the stand of the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), with the 5G experience. Visitors will get a taste of what it will be like to have this technology – remembering that Curitiba is among the first cities in the country to be covered by 5G by 2023.

Me and Smart Plaza Pinhão Valley will bring together ecosystem innovations that change the lives of Curitibans. Pioneering proposals such as Knowledge and Innovation Beacons, Saúde Já App, Capital Telemedicine Service, Fazenda Urbana, Muralha Digital and Wi-Fi Curitiba will be presented. In addition, entrepreneurship support programs will be on display, such as Tecnoparque, Worktibas, Bom Negócios and Empreendedora Curitibana.

Connection and business hub

SCECWB will again act as a great connection hub and networking among managers of public initiatives, directors and executives of private organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, development agencies and civil society.

With the support of the City of Curitiba, Agência Curitiba and Vale do Pinhão, the event is sponsored by companies such as Mastercard, Indra, Sebrae Paraná, L8, Planet Smart City, BRDE and Geotab.
