Team Canada improved to a record of four wins and zero losses at the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championships in Sydney, Nova Scotia. On Monday, Canada beat Norway 9-4.

The first half of the game was very even, with Canada leading 4-3 after five games. It was the second half of the game where Canada dominated Norway as they defeated the Norwegians 5-1 in a three-end period from the sixth to the eighth end.

There is no doubt that Homan’s team played much better than Gimli in the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship against Norway. Kerri Einarson of Manitoba played against Norway at the 2023 World Women’s Curling Championship. Last year, the Norwegian team, led by skipper Marianne Rorvik and fourth stone thrower Kristin Skaslien, defeated Einarson’s team 8-5 in the semifinals. Einarson’s big mistake came in the ninth round when she got away lightly and allowed Norway to take three points. Homan’s squad was simply more consistent and therefore achieved a W.

Currently three teams are undefeated. Switzerland is 5-0 and Italy is 4-0. These will be Canada’s two opponents on Tuesday. The other two teams over .500 are Denmark and South Korea. Denmark is 4-1 and South Korea is 3-1. The only team Denmark has beaten is Canada, as the Canadians defeated the Danes 7-4 on Saturday. The only team to beat South Korea on Saturday was Switzerland 7-4.
