Brooke Henderson in the race for the Honda LPGA Thailand 2024

Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls. Ontario is in contention after the second round of the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand. She is -7, three shots behind leaders Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand, Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden and Sei Young Kim of South Korea, who are tied for first place at -10.

Three other players share fourth place with -9. There you can find Albane Valenzuela from Switzerland, Hyo-joo Kim from South Korea and Jaravee Boonchant from Thailand. There are three golfers in seventh place with -8. These are Esther Henseleit from Germany, Ayaka Furue from Japan and Peiyun Chien from Taiwan. Six other golfers join Henderson in 10th place. They are Ariya Jutanugarn from Thailand, Danielle Kang and Elizabeth Szokol from the United States, Chistao Iwai from Japan, Xiyu Lin from China and Leona Maguire from Ireland.

Henderson is a two-time major champion, having won the Women’s PGA Championship in 2016 and the Evian Championship in 2022. Other big winners in the competition include Tavatanakit (ANA Inspiration 2021), Sei Young Kim (Women’s PGA Championship 2020), Hyo-joo Kim (Evian Championship 2014), Jutanugarn (Women’s British Open 2016 and United States Women’s Open 2018) and Kang ( 2017 Women’s PGA Championship).

In the first round, Henderson had five birdies and zero bogeys. She birdied the seventh, ninth, 13th, 16th and 18th holes. In the second round, Henderson had four birdies and two bogeys. She made birdies on the fifth, sixth, 11th and 18th holes and bogeyed the second and 13th holes.
