Videos of the entire series based on the video game “The Last of Us” have appeared on Twitter. The show’s production process was filmed by residents of the Canadian city of Edmonton, where filming is currently taking place, and published their The Last of Us Updates fan account.
The images show the Canadian city of Edmonton, which the creators of the series have given the appearance of a destroyed Boston, overgrown with bushes. In it, depending on the plot, the main events of the show unfold. Pedro Pascal as the smuggler Joel and Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, walk among the sets and surrounded by cameras.
“The Last of Us” takes place 20 years after the start of a global pandemic caused by a mutated fungus Cordyceps. He, entering the human body, makes the victim lose his head and transforms him into a kind of zombie. In the story, smuggler Joel has to get 14-year-old Ellie out of the quarantine zone.
The first episode of the series was shot by Russian director Kantemir Balagov, known for his films Dylda and Tightness. The showrunner for the project was Craig Mazin, who worked with HBO on the Chernobyl series, and the game’s creator, Neil Druckmann, took over production.
Previously, residents of the neighborhood had shown photos from the set of “The Last of Us”. According to eyewitnesses, during filming, Pascal had a backpack and an assault rifle on his back, and Ramsey’s hair was styled “like in the game.”
At the end of September, HBO released the first still image in the series, which depicts Ellie and Joel in front of a destroyed plane.
