Toronto police are investigating after fireworks were set off inside at the end of Wednesday’s Dua Lipa concert at the city’s Scotiabank Arena.

Police said they received information about the incident shortly before midnight. They said three people had minor injuries and were seen by medics working at the scene.

“This remains an active investigation, anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police,” the force said, noting there was no property damage.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which owns and operates the venue, said “unauthorized and illegal fireworks were lit on the arena floor by a member of the public.”

MLSE said it takes security on its sites seriously.

“Creating a safe and secure place for every attendee at Scotiabank Arena is MLSE’s top priority and we immediately began working in cooperation with (the Toronto Police Service) to fully investigate this reckless and dangerous act. “, wrote the organization in a press release.

“We thank (the police), on-site medical team, employees and concert-goers for their prompt support in responding to this incident.”

Investigators are working with arena security to review CCTV. No suspects have been identified.
