Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Spanish team became the first to advance to the 2022 ATP Cup Final after beating Poland in the semi-finals with a 2-1 score in Sydney, Australia on Friday.

Spain’s advantage came thanks to singles played by Pablo Carreno Busta and Roberto Bautista Agut in the first two sessions at Ken Rosewall Arena. Meanwhile, from the doubles number, Spain, represented by Pedro Martinez / Albert Ramos Vinolas, did not budge against Szymon Walkow / Jan Zielinski.

Hurkacz has a strong desire for his country to stay afloat and get into the final round, although he didn’t hesitate to play extraordinary technique today. But Roberto was relentless and ultimately came out on top after struggling for two hours and 44 minutes.

“He played a tough game, but I just tried to concentrate and work hard until I finally won,” said Roberto.

In the first session, another Spanish men’s singles player, Pablo, emerged victorious against Jan Zielinski 6-2, 6-1.

Spain’s defeat in men’s doubles with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-10 by the representatives of Poland did not affect the two wins to secure the final match. The next Matador team are still awaiting potential opponents between Russia and Canada who will meet on Saturday for the last remaining ticket.
