Ronald J Healey

Ronald J. Healey, 85, of Jamestown passed away Thursday (May 4, 2023) at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born on June 22, 1937 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada to the late Clifford and Irene Curley Healey.

Ron was a proud Royal Canadian Navy veteran, serving from 1954 to 1959. He always enjoyed sharing Navy stories with his fellow American Marines, including his grandson and son-in-law. He was known in the community for his masterful contributions to Framemasters Inc. and was employed by the John Deere Corporation prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, where he was minister for many years, and Thule Lodge. He was very athletic in his youth and had a passion for golf where he spent many happy hours with friends and family on the golf course. A lifelong football and baseball enthusiast, he was one of the biggest fans of the Toronto Blue Jays. Ron always enjoyed tackling his New York Yankees friends properly.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Birk Healey, whom he married at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church on November 18, 1988; three children: Rhonda Healey of Ontario, Canada, Kevin (Lori) Healey of the Dominican Republic, Susan Lipohar of Ontario, Canada; two stepchildren: Darrin (Sarah) Payne, Shaleen (Troy) LaPare; 9 grandchildren and a sister Ann Sturm from North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, his twin brother Donald Healey also died before him; a sister Mary Fast; two grandchildren: Isaac Lipohar and Nathan Healey.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish. His remains will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
