GUELPH SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Nominations for the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame will be submitted on Monday, October 30 at 5 p.m
Nominations will be accepted for a period of five years and will be considered later this fall for inclusion beginning in 2024.
Nominations are made via the Online portal
There are three classes of induction into the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame:
- athlete
- Builder (administrator/organizer/executive/coach/promoter/official/other)
- Team (national/provincial championships)
Eligibility to vote
- Nominees who have achieved prominence through outstanding achievements in any field of sport or who have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of sport in Guelph are eligible for election to the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame.
- Athlete candidates must have completed their career as active players for at least five years prior to their election, unless the Board of Governors may shorten this waiting period at the request of the selection committee in advance due to outstanding notoriety and outstanding ability.
- Officials and team candidates may be active or inactive at the time of selection.
Attend the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner
The 2024 induction ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 15, during the annual Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner at the Italian Canadian Club. Tickets will be available online in early 2024 on-line.
About the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame
Founded in 1992 by the City of Guelph and the Kiwanis Club of Guelph Guelph Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that recognizes and celebrates the achievements of Guelph individuals and teams who have achieved excellence and distinction in all areas of sport and have made significant contributions to the development and promotion of sport in Guelph. Each year, inductees are celebrated at the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner and their achievements are permanently documented in a public exhibit at the Sleeman Center.
The Guelph Sports Hall of Fame is governed by a Board of Directors and funded by Kiwanis Club of Guelph through the annual induction dinner and through grants from the City of Guelph.
