OAKVILLE, Ont. (AP) — Nick Taylors epic eagle putt Winning the RBC Canadian Open will now be celebrated in next year’s tournament logo.

Taylor became the first Canadian in 69 years to win his National Open in June when he hit a 72-foot putt to beat Tommy Fleetwood on the fourth hole of a playoff at Oakdale Golf and Country Club near Toronto.

The logo shows a golfer swinging a club for the “i” in Canadian. For next year, this will be replaced with a silhouette of Taylor throwing his putter in the air while putting.

The 2024 tournament will take place at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club near the town of Ancaster, known for its Great Pumpkin Stroll. At this year’s event, Golf Canada design manager Brendan Peters designed a golf ball-shaped pumpkin with Taylor’s silhouette in the Canadian Open logo.

Golf Canada has decided to go one step further.

“It energizes the logo and gives it a different flavor,” said Tim McLaughlin, Golf Canada’s chief marketing officer. “But also, what a great way for us to pay tribute to one of the most special moments in the history of the RBC Canadian Open and an iconic moment in Canadian sport.”
