“With regard to economic growth, taking into account the evolution of the situation, we estimate the growth of the GDP for the current year at 4.2%. In August, during the formation of the forecasts, many experts said that they could be higher, ”Mr. Reshetnikov said at a meeting of the budget committee of the State Duma (quote from RIA Novosti).
According to the minister, the catering “has generally been exhausted”. “The economy has entered its own path, the epidemiological situation has worsened, so we can hardly count on higher rates this year,” he said.
In August, the Ministry of Economy predicted Russia’s GDP growth this year at the level of 4.2%. The agency raised the estimate from July’s interim forecast, which assumed Russia’s economy grew 3.8 percent. In addition, the Chamber of Accounts considers that a growth of 3% of GDP in Russia in 2022-2024 is “a rather ambitious goal”.
