Laurent Brossoit records the fourth NHL shutout of his career

Laurent Brossoit of Port Alberni, British Columbia, recorded his fourth National Hockey League shutout of his career on Friday. He achieved this feat in the Winnipeg Jets’ 3-0 victory over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Brossoit made eight saves in the first period, four in the second period and five in the third period. In total, he made 17 saves. Jordan Eberle of Regina, Saskatchewan, had four shots on goal to lead the Kraken.

Mark Scheifele of Kitchener, Ont., scored the game-winning goal for the Jets at 7:15 of the third period. Scheifele’s goal opened the scoring and was his 19th goal of the season.

In the 2023-24 season, Brossoit has a record of 11 wins, four regulation losses and two overtime losses. They have a goals-against average of 2.11 and a save percentage of 0.924.

Of Brossoit’s four career shutouts in the National Hockey League, three came with the Winnipeg Jets. The other was with the Vegas Golden Knights. Brossoit defeated the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 at the Jets on December 22, 2018 and defeated the Canucks again at the Jets on February 19, 2021. This time the Jets won 2-0. Brossoit’s third NHL shutout came on February 8, 2022 in the Golden Knights’ 4-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Jets are second in the Central Division with 85 points. They have a record of 40 wins, 17 regular season losses and five overtime losses. They are only behind the Dallas Stars.
