Technology company Facebook would have released the service Game cloud computing, for users of Apple iPhone or iPad devices via Safari.
The move is meant to bypass Apple’s strict policies for third-party developers. This service allows users to play Facebook games through the browser, without having to download the game to an Apple device.
The games provided by Facebook are accessible through the site Play games on Facebook via the Safari browser. Users can also save the game on the home screen page, so it’s easy if you want to replay it.
However, for now, the Facebook cloud game can only be played by users in the United States and parts of Canada and Mexico. Users who are not in the area can play HTML5 games in the web app.
Cited CNET, some of the games offered by Facebook include Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Risk: Global Domination, and LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed.
Facebook’s move comes after Apple demanded that streaming games be available as an app on the App Store. However, the policy notes that web browser apps can be used to reach users outside of the App Store.
