GD and CDW Canada Strengthen CAF Command and Control Capability

General Dynamics (GD) Mission Systems–Canada, a General dynamics subsidiary, and CDW Canada have obtained a Contract provide an integrated situational awareness solution to the Canadian Department of National Defence.

Under the multi-year contract, the companies will jointly provide the Integrated Network Situational Awareness Command and Control (Net C2 ISAC) capability to the department.

The integrated capability will help the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) conduct effective command and control operations, including the monitoring of IT services.

CDW Canada Vice-President and General Manager, Ginette Adragna, said, “From now on, commanders can help fulfill CAF mandates knowing they will be supported in real time with full access to their IT services.

With economic development investments from General Dynamics, the Net C2 ISAC program will ensure a modernized Canadian defense capability in the areas of cyber resilience and artificial intelligence.

Joel Houde, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Mission Systems – International, said, “As network topologies become more complex, more integrated, and more influenced by emerging business needs, our contribution to Net C2 ISAC will ensure that commanders benefit from real-time, integrated and relevant access to the state of health of their IT services.

“As a trusted capability provider with a deep understanding of cyber resilience, multi-layered network security and interoperability, we look forward to working with CDW and continuing our legacy of helping the CAF meet to their operational needs.

CDW Canada, a subsidiary of CDW Corporationprovides software, networking, unified communications, data centers and mobility solutions.

In 2019, General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada won three contracts, valued at $621.5 million, to support the ground-based command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and Canadian Army Reconnaissance.
