ROCHESTER, NY — Satellite imagery and high-resolution forecast models suggest smoke from wildfires currently engulfed in the central Great Lakes could become an air quality concern Monday. Parts of southern Michigan, Ohio and Indiana currently have unhealthy air quality. A southwesterly wind current is likely to bring at least some particulate matter to western New York over the next 24 hours. Air quality in the Rochester area is currently rated as “good”.
Keep an eye out for clear to partly cloudy skies on Sunday evening. The low will be around 63 degrees. Hazy and at times smoky filtered sunshine awaits you on Monday. A thunderstorm is possible late in the day. Expect a lot of humidity throughout the day and the maximum temperature is around 30 degrees. Tuesday will bring partial sunshine with the possibility of a passing shower or thunderstorm, particularly southeast of Rochester in the Finger Lakes. The temperature will be within a few degrees of 80 degrees.
