Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is the hottest goaltender in the world right now. On Monday, the 26-year-old helped the Coyotes secure a 6-0 win over the Washington Capitals at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Ingram made 10 saves in the first period, nine in the second period and eight saves in the third period. Tom Wilson of Toronto, Ont., and John Carlson led the Capitals with four shots each.

Offensively, Alexander Kerfoot of Vancouver, British Columbia, led the Coyotes with three points as he had three assists. A Canadian scored for the Coyotes as Michael Carcone of Ajax, Ont., gave the Coyotes a 2-0 lead at 10:02 of the first period.

This was Ingram’s third shutout in the National Hockey League and second of the season. Previously, he defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0 on February 15, 2023 and the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 on November 25.

In the 2023-24 season, Ingram has a record of 11 wins and three losses with two shutouts. He has a goals-against average of 2.23 and a save percentage of .930.

The Coyotes are winners of five straight games. How hot was Ingram really? Well, for the past two weeks he has been the National Hockey League’s first Star of the Week and recorded a shutout the week before and after his honor. Arizona is in fourth place in the Central Division with 28 points. They have a record of 13 wins, nine regulation losses and two overtime losses.
