Reports of Frank Cessie’s move to Tottenham have diminished following comments from midfielder Antonio Conte who has been advised to devote his future to AC Milan.
Midfielder General, 25, has quickly become one of football’s most coveted free agents. Kessie is out of contract next summer and, as you might expect, shooters and clubs are sure to sign the AC Milan man.
In fact, it now seems inevitable that there will be a split between Kessie and Milan. Their last salary of around 5 million a year was denied. So, the news in Italy says that Chase told Chaser in the Serie A title that he plans to leave next summer.
Additionally, a report shortly before Christmas described a package that had been put on the table at Spurs. They are ready to give him a contract worth 8.4million per season, which equates to 160,000 per week.
He will replace Kessey as one of Tottenham’s highest paid players, even surpassing Hyung-min Son’s current salary.
So, according to a report released on Tuesday Kessie admits move and is set to sign Antonio Conte’s first contract.
His departure will greatly affect Milan. He has scored five goals in 21 games this season and has been the driving force behind their midfield. His overall record in Milan is 35 goals and 16 assists in 205 games. This means that it will be difficult to change the quality.
With all of that in mind, great Milan Massimo Ambrosini urged Kessie to think twice before taking the plunge.
“I have great respect for the professional decisions of my teammates,” said Ambrosini Manchester Evening News. “I can say that those clubs that can offer a higher salary are not at a higher standard than Milan.
“If you’re happy, the opportunity to win € 8m out of € 6m shouldn’t be a priority, if not where you already are. They shouldn’t see Milan as a side club.
It remains to be seen if Kessie will take the advice, as many are still hoping the player will leave.
Conte Coy in a possible exchange with Frank Guessie
Asked about his recent signings in January, Conte has given little.
“Honestly, I can’t answer that at the moment,” he said.
“My goal now is to work with the players to improve the situation and then, of course, to meet with the club to see if there is any possibility of improving the situation in terms of transfers.
But now I think it’s good to focus on the pitch. We have the most important game [against Crystal Palace]. “
He added: “No, we cannot discuss it because of the loose situation at the club.
“But of course we’ll have a meeting. I tend to use this situation. I think the only way to improve Tottenham’s current situation is to work hard with the team I have and improve my players.
“If there is an opportunity to improve the team in the transfer window, we will do our best to improve Tottenham’s position.”
