Are you looking for the best board games to play on Christmas? Otherwise, look no further. Christmas is the time to meet the people who mean the most to you, whether they are family members, loved ones or friends. So what better way to celebrate the holiday season and have the best time of the year than to challenge Granny, run her over in a race, or cook her in the kitchen? Suck, grandmother.
Yes, Christmas is a time to get together, but there’s nothing quite like having fun to spice things up a bit and maybe ruin friendships forever – and there are some great board games out there. PS5AND Xbox Xbox X AND Nintendo Switch who only offer it.
If you’d rather play together rather than playing alone this Christmas, look no further because we’ve compiled a list of the best board games to keep everyone entertained this holiday season.
Overcooked! All you can eat
Platforms: PS4, Xbox Series X / S,, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox One
Numbers of players: up to four
Cooking Christmas dinner is admittedly a nightmare. You can be sure that the turkey won’t thaw, or turn on the oven to preheat it, or just forget an integral part of the meal (where to fill?!).
Packaging Overcooked, Overcooked 2 and all available DLC, Overcooked! Everything you can eat is as messy and boring as making Christmas dinner (and maybe more). It is a cooking game that can be played in single player and multiplayer mode, but multiplayer is more fun. You have to go through different levels of the kitchen, with the aim of delivering food to hungry customers and saving the onion kingdom. But things aren’t that simple, and these aren’t your everyday kitchens – oh no. You’ll navigate swamps, haunted castles, and collapsed mines while cooking.
You can play together in a two-player campaign mode or face-to-face in a four-player mode. We don’t recommend the whole house situation because nothing brings a family together like a culinary disaster.
Super mario party
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Numbers of players: up to four
There is no party like Super mario partyBecause a Super Mario party could end with Joy-Cons throwing snowballs. Super Mario Party for Nintendo Switch is exactly what allows up to four players to participate in either the original Mario Party board game or the Mariothon minigame mode.
With a cast of iconic Mario characters, crazy mini-games, and more twists than a particularly fancy pretzel, Super Mario Party delivers all the excitement (and fury) of the original board games, but for the modern era. .
Jackbox 8 party set
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and mobile
Numbers of players: to 10
If you’re looking for a team game that looks a bit odd and doesn’t log you in with just one name, then the Jackbox Party Pack might be for you. Jackbox Games releases a new multiplayer video game pack for different platforms every year, but these aren’t your usual quizzes and action games – instead, you can expect plenty of chaotic classic tournaments with up to 10 players (you can even play from your smartphone, so you don’t need additional controllers).
Jackbox Party Pack 8 is the latest addition to the series and includes a Drawful Animate guessing game, interview game, The Poll Mine, Social Drawn, Weapons Drawn, and a Wheel of Huge Proportions.
Jackbox Party Pack 8 can be purchased from Jack boxing games.
Super Smash Bros.
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Numbers of players: up to eight
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate For the Nintendo Switch, it may have been released in 2018, but thanks to the influx of new fighters over time (which is nowhere to be found), it’s newer than ever. It might not be the perfect board game for the whole family (because it is basically a fighting game), you should definitely play it with your friends.
Ultimate has more fighters, more levels, and more game modes than its predecessors, which means you’ll be spoiled for choice as a Nintendo character to take down your best friend.
Knowledge is power
Platforms: PS4 and PS5
Numbers of players: at six
Do you remember Buzz? Experience a PlayStation 2 game with a mysterious wedge-shaped competition lord? Well, if you’re a fan of it, Knowledge is Power is definitely for you, although it doesn’t have the aggressive attack of buttons like Buzz.
Knowledge is Power is PlayLink’s original and entertaining game that covers a wide range of topics from History to Music to TV and allows up to six players to play. As is the name of PlayLink, you play the game with smartphones, not consoles, and there are some good touchscreen issues as well.
You can take Knowledge – Power to Playstation store – There is even a file Knowledge is power: decades The edition is available.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Numbers of players: Up to four (or up to eight controllers connected)
Will the board game roster really be multiplayer without Mario Kart? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch lets you relive all the racing nostalgia and aggression we love about the series. Mom brought you socks for Christmas again? Add the banana peel, it will teach him.
The latest version of Mario Kart adds five new characters and four new multiplayer modes, contains 48 tracks and over 40 racers – so you’ll be sure to stay busy while on vacation.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe supports two players in portable mode and four players on a single TV, but you need additional controllers for four players, or up to eight if you are connecting multiple controllers to the Switch.
oh you are here
Platforms: PS4 and PS5
Numbers of players: two to six
PlayLink’s other name, This Is You, is a six-player group quiz that’s basically a group version of the Mr. and Mrs. TV show. Couples which was popular in the UK and Canada at the time.
You will be asked fun questions such as “Who is most likely to survive in the desert” and you will be given points for getting to know other players better. Your grandfather is probably a secret survivor and can catch trout faster than you need to select them as your choice – if so, you will certainly find out here.
Like Knowledge is Power, you play from mobile devices like smartphones or tablets, so all you need to do is download the app.
This is available to you from Playstation store.
a bunch of monsters
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC (playable on Xbox Series X / S and PS5 with backward compatibility)
Numbers of players: Up to four per local cooperative
Gang Beasts is arguably our favorite (and probably the most ridiculous) game on this list. Set in the fictional Beef City, you take on the role of a tough character who tries to defeat his opponents by punching, kicking, throwing buildings, and setting fire to, among other things.
If you have pent-up anger towards your loved ones, this is the perfect game to play with a harmless slapstick. Gang Beasts can be played by up to four players simultaneously locally, though it’s just as fun to watch as it is to play.
Sports friends
Platforms: PS4 and PC (can be played on PS5 via backward compatibility)
Numbers of players: Up to four in some games
Sportfriends is definitely not for everyone, but if you like a game that is a little different and 100% weird, then this is probably for you. Sportfriends includes a collection of four retro multiplayer games: the BariBariBall dingo, Super Pole Riders, and ice hockey games like Hokra and Johann Sebastian Joust (which looks a lot like him).
Each track is short, but worth trying just for the experience – and the chance to compete with your grandparents for classical music. Some games can have up to four players, but you need controllers, while Jousting requires PlayStation Move controllers.
Chloe / Cluido
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Numbers of players: at six
Newly inspired by the classics, Clue / Cluedo for Nintendo Switch could be the perfect game if you love an old man. The game basically works the same as the tabletop version, but the playing field is key – oh, and Ms. White has been replaced by Dr. Orchid, which apparently happened a few years ago. Who knows?
You can play Clue / Cluedo with six players, but each player needs a mobile device and the free Cluesheet Companion or Clue: Official Edition app to share. Sometimes the old is good.
You can download Clue / Cluedo for Nintendo Switch from the file Nintendo store.
