KHL President Alexei Morozov spoke about the League’s work to increase interest among the younger generation and also shared his plans during the Olympic break.

NHL 22 has MFM teams, as well as an IIHF license. Is the league considering making its own game or licensing it from EA Sports?

– It’s interesting. We work with Generation Z. Several years ago, this topic was under development. Creating your own game is very expensive. Our traders are working. We understand that it is interesting. We want to attract the younger generation through cartoons and movies. We are following this trend.

The KHL definitely has no plans to organize anything during the Olympic break. Each club has its own program. Many will organize training camps in Dubai. We don’t mind if the clubs organize everything themselves in order to maintain the practice of the game. But the league will not organize anything.

We have a protocol with the NHL. We don’t want our players to be robbed by this December and January. 200 thousand euros is not the right amount. After all, our salaries are not like in Europe. It turns out that any club in the NHL can remove a player from our system in the winter. The conditions offered by the NHL at the European Championships do not suit us, ”said Sport24 correspondent Daria Tuboltseva, according to Morozov.
