Jakarta (ANTARA) – Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has once again been nominated for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award 2021, which is one of six categories at the ATP 2021 awards night.
This is the fourth consecutive time that Nadal has been nominated in a category whose winners are chosen by other world players. Over the past three years, the Spaniard has consistently won this award.
The Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award category is presented to players who have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, integrity and fairness, as well as the promotion of tennis through off-court activities.

This year Nadal was nominated along with Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada), Casper Ruud (Norway) and Frances Tiafoe (United States).
While the other 2021 ATP Awards categories include the best tennis player, to recover The best, the best newcomers, the best coaches and the fan favorite tennis players.
For this year’s Player of the Year category are those who achieved a better FedEx ATP ranking than the previous season and showed improved play throughout 2021. The nominees are Carlos Alcaraz (Spain), Aslan Karatsev (Russia ), Cameron Norrie (England) and Casper Ruud.

In addition, Sebastian Baez (Argentina), Jenson Brooksby (United States), Juan Manuel Cerundolo (Argentina), Hugo Gaston (France) and Brandon Nakashima (United States) were nominated in the best newcomer category.
In addition to players, the 2021 ATP Awards will also reward coaches. The nominees are Craig Boynton (coach of Hubert Hurkacz), Giles Cervara (Daniil Medvedev), Juan Carlos Ferrero (Carlos Alcaraz), Facundo Lugones (Cameron Norrie) and Christian Ruud (Casper Ruud).
In addition to these five categories, global tennis fans can also vote for their favorite player at the ATP Awards 2021 and the deadline is Tuesday, December 7th. On the official ATP website, the winner will be announced at the end of this month.
