Even though he has a great opportunity to qualify for the group stage, Rionny always asks his players not to underestimate their opponents and to continue to perform at their peak.
“The opportunity is bigger, but we don’t take it lightly, we always prepare the players as much as possible. Regardless of our opponent, we have to put out the best game, but this group is in our favor,” he said. Rionny said in an online conversation about Indonesia’s preparations for the Sudirman Cup Tuesday (9/14/2021).
“We can win the group. Denmark is the toughest opponent, then Russia. I think here we have to focus on Denmark,” he continued.
In this event, PBSI selected the top 20 athletes consisting of 11 men and 9 women.

For player selection, said Rionny, this was seen in practice and simulations and in the time remaining his party continued to forge in order to achieve maximum results in the 2021 Sudirman Cup later.
The fight for the symbol of supremacy in the mixed team event will take place from September 26 to October 3 in the city of Vantaa, Finland.
“For the Sudirman Cup team, basically, they were chosen from the best players. We saw their readiness both in training and in the last simulation. Indeed, there are players who did not win in the simulation but in terms of their game they are already very good. Not disappointed. This is also our assessment, ”said Rionny.
