Blizzard released new details for Diablo 4 – Games

by Edwin Robertson

Blizzard has released a quarterly development report for Diablo 4.

In it, art director John Mueller, main character artist Arno Kotelnikov and deputy art director Nick Chilano talked about the development of game models.

  • The starting point for character creation was the cutscenes in Diablo III. They seemed to the developers to be a good foundation for new character designs, so the team tried to recreate that same depth of quality as part of the game.
  • New engine tools have allowed developers to improve the detail of complex materials.
  • Blizzard has created a character customization system that can work with different body types and shapes, hundreds of armors, and unique models for each of the five classes.
  • Players will be able to customize their character’s appearance in the “Den”, a new adjustment system that will allow you to combine different pieces of armor and customize the color scheme.
  • The character creation system allowed Blizzard to render most of the story’s cutscenes directly to the engine, using in-game models.
  • The game will have a record number of character customization opportunities. There will be a painting system for items from previous games in the series.
  • The artists tried to make the design of the monsters unique. Nick Chilano explained that the task of the team when creating monsters is to make sure enemies are pleasant to kill.

Diablo 4 release date. Previously, Blizzard had stated that the game would definitely not be released in 2021.
