3. Perbasi is a non-governmental organization and is a parent organization composed of basketball associations as stipulated in article 8 of these statutes.

Purpose of Perbasi (article 5)

1. Coordinate, promote all forms of basketball activities in all jurisdictions of the Republic of Indonesia in order to awaken and develop a feeling of love for the homeland (nationalism)
2. Through basketball activities, indirectly form a whole Indonesian human being who is physically and mentally strong, tenacious, agile and intelligent so that he can participate and work for national development.
3. Foster and strive for athletes and basketball players to be able to excel in stages at regional / regional / national / international level.
4. Cultivate and foster friendship and brotherhood between nations through basketball activities which are achieved by building relationships and becoming members of international basketball organizations, among others, by participating in matches / competitions of basketball between countries.

Internal and foreign relations (article 6)

1. Perbasi, as the only parent organization of basketball in Indonesia, is a member of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).
