10 types of traditional Indonesian games, make you miss childhood

1. Gobak Sodor

Gobak sodor is one of the most popular traditional games. To play, players must first make a row of squares which will later become the group area when they become guards.

Usually this game is divided into two groups, each group has a minimum of three people. One group is responsible for guarding the box or area, while the other group called the attackers must be able to pass through the area without coming into contact with the guard group.

The game will be more exciting when the guards try to catch the group of attackers, while the group of attackers will try to dodge. When an attacker comes into contact with a box keeper, he must take turns as the keeper.

2. Rubber rope jump

Maybe now this game is more popular under the name “jump”. However, the rubber skipping rope which is a traditional game is a skipping rope with the help of ropes arranged with the help of rubber bands.

Generally, skipping rope is often played by girls. The minimum number of players to jump rope is three people.

Two players stretch and hold the rope, while the other player must pass or jump without touching the rope. If the jumper fails to pass, he must take turns holding the rope.

3. Marbles

Traditional games which are generally favored by boys. This game can be played anywhere, indoors or outdoors.

There are many types of marbles games, in which the player has to throw the opponent’s marbles until they are right on the target. If right on target, the opponent’s marbles can be yours.
