Figure skating coach Alexander Zhulin, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru, spoke about the unexpected change in Alena Kostornaya’s short and free programs ahead of the start of the second stage of the Grand Prix of the 2021/22 season – Skating Canada.
Previously, Kostornaya skated in the short blues program “Am I The One” (Beth Hart) and in the free skate – “Winter” by Antonio Vivaldi. Now, according to Match TV, she will star in the short film directed by New York, New York by Frank Sinatra, and in the free program under the direction of Lovely Billie Eilish.
“I don’t think changing the program in Kostornaya’s case matters at all. It must restore the triple axis. It will help him perform much stronger during the Olympic season, ”Zhulin said.
