Nova Scotians now have a new, easy way to access workplace safety information online.
Nova SAFE is a mobile-friendly website that gives employers, managers and employees access to safety information and regulatory requirements on any device. The site contains information on a variety of topics such as fall protection, personal protective equipment and fire extinguishers.
“Safe working is everyone’s responsibility and we are taking steps to make it as easy as possible,” said Jill Balser, Secretary of State for Jobs, Skills and Immigration. “With the launch of Nova SAFE, we are putting safety information in the hands of Nova Scotians. This allows them to access security information from any workstation if they need it.”
The site was created to help workers and employers comply with health and safety regulations, technical safety regulations and stay safe at work. Nova SAFE is modeled after safety sites created in other jurisdictions and developed by the Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety.
The site is designed to be user-friendly and contains easy-to-understand information on labor issues and state laws. Nova Scotians can also call 1-800-9Labour with safety-related questions.
Nova SAFE can be easily installed on any iOS or Android device by visiting https://www.novasafe.ca/
