A well-known communications face of Vernon has joined the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Richard Roke is CMHA Vernons new fund development and communications manager.
Most recently, Rolke was Communications and Programs Coordinator for the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and has 28 years of local media experience.
“We are very pleased to have Richard on our team,” said CMHA executive director Julia Payson.
“Richard is no stranger to CMHA and has supported many of our campaigns and projects, including serving as a volunteer on the Capital Committee where he raised funds for the foundry. Richard is a storyteller and community leader and he is a wonderful new leader for our communications and fund development work.”
Rolke currently serves on the board of directors of the Friends of Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park Society and is involved in other charitable organizations.
“It is a great honor to join the CMHA Vernon team and to support the important work they are doing to help individuals and families improve mental health. My goal is to raise community awareness of the importance of mental health and well-being,” Rolke said in a press release announcing his appointment.
