Canadian Olympic gold medalist Shea Weber of Sicamous, British Columbia, and former National Hockey League Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell of Tillsonburg, Ontario, will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, according to Josh Erickson of Professional hockey rumors on Tuesday. Weber played 16 NHL seasons with the Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens. He was with the Predators from 2005 to 2016 and the Canadiens from 2016 to 2021.
In 1,038 NHL regular season games, defenseman Weber scored 224 goals and 365 assists for 589 points. He had a +79 record with 714 penalty minutes, 239 power play points, 11 shorthanded points, 35 game-winning goals and 2,765 shots on goal.
During the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Weber scored 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in 97 games. He had a -1 record with 106 penalty minutes, eight power play goals, three game-winning goals and 227 shots on goal.
Weber has appeared in seven NHL All-Star Games. He represented the Predators in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016. Weber also represented the Canadiens in 2017 and 2020. He was also on the NHL First All-Star Team in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
At the international level, Weber won two Olympic gold medals (2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and that 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi), a gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships (2005 in Grand Forks, North Dakota), a gold medal at the World Ice Hockey Championships (2007 in Moscow) and a gold medal at the World Championships (2016 in Toronto). At the junior level, Weber also won a Memorial Cup with the Kelowna Rockets in 2004.
Campbell headed a committee responsible for several NHL rule changes in 2006. These included shootouts, a penalty for shooting the puck over the boards, and no line changes allowed for a team that has put the puck on ice.
