Waterloo Region Businesses Surpass Elite in Deloitte Tech Fast 50 Rankings

Companies in Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph were honored on Wednesday when Deloitte released its annual Tech Fast 50 list for Canada as well as its annual Technology Fast 500 ranking for North America.

Those on both lists include Applyboard, Rapid Novor and Roadmunk from Kitchener, and Auvik Networks from Waterloo.

The Fast 50 list measures the fastest growing technology companies in Canada with the highest revenue growth over the past four years.

Appleboard, which is involved in education, ranks seventh overall, and Deloitte says the company has grown by 5,089% in the past four years.

Other local businesses on the list include Auvik Networks, which is at 36, Rapid Novor, at 39, Kitchener’s Bonfire, at 41, and Roadmunk, at 45 on the map.

The Fast 500 List examines companies from all continents that have submitted and submitted research. Winners are based on the percentage of growth for the year over the three years.

Ranked 41, Upboard is also the top ranked national company on the North American list, but not the only one.

Auvik Networks listed Access at 293, while Rapid Novor at 296. Other companies on the list include Roadmunk at 434, Kitchener’s Tulip at 476 and Avidbots at 483, and Luminor Environmental Inc. of Guelph. to no. 488.

Deloitte also honored 15 Canadian cleantech companies with Luminor Environmental Inc. The only national company on the list.

Skywatch Waterloo, featured in commercial satellite imagery, is the only one on Deloitte’s list of companies to watch, which highlights future stars in the tech world.
