An unusual visitor, who came to Brazil this weekend, was leaving this Sunday, November 7 after his operation at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (SP), but had to return to the origin, according to the landing video that you see in this case.
According to data from the flight tracking platform RadarBox, the Boeing 767-300F aircraft registered under registration C-GVIJ, by the Canadian airline Cargojet, left Viracopos at 8:23 p.m., but about 25 minutes later, over the interior of the state of São Paulo, began a descent to 10,000 feet, then turned to return. Then, on the way back, it fell to 7,000 feet.
Returning to such a low altitude is usually indicative of a problem with the aircraft’s pressurization system, as without the system functioning properly it is necessary to fly lower so that the interior of the aircraft has atmospheric pressure and oxygen level more suited to the human body.
Despite this, there is still no confirmation of what the problem would have been, and it may or may not be related to the pressurization system.
Update: Still on Sunday evening, Viracopos airport confirmed that the return of the plane had occurred due to a pressurization problem.
After approaching Campinas, over the town of Piracicaba, the pilots of the Boeing 767 freighter placed it in a hold orbit procedure, possibly to consume fuel in order to reduce the weight of the aircraft before the landing (for long flights, planes take off with a mass greater than the landing limit, therefore, when the situation allows time for the use of fuel, the process is done to avoid a risk of damage to a landing with a high mass).
The aircraft remained in hold orbit in the Piracicaba area at an altitude of 5,500 feet (1,670 meters), then climbed to 7,000 feet before touching down. The inhabitants of the city of São Paulo recorded the moments of the flyby:
After the flight continued to Viracopos, the landing of the Boeing 767 was followed in the video below in real time, via the channel’s live camera “Golf Oscar Romeu”Which shows take-offs and landings from Viracopos International Airport.
At 22:56, the aircraft completed its safe landing at Campinas airport without further complications and without the need for the support of emergency teams, continuing to taxi to the freight station.
The Boeing 767 arrived at Viracopos International Airport at midnight and 46 minutes from Saturday to Sunday, from Ontario, Canada, with a stopover in Trinidad and Tobago.
After being on the ground all day, he left late this Sunday on flight W8-1592 to Miami, USA, but had to deal with the blackout that resulted in his return.
