Vaccinated truck driver forced to self-isolate in Ontario

TEHRAN – French President Emmanuel Macron traveled to West Asia in a diplomatic stalemate between Iran and the European Union (France, Great Britain and Germany). What is the real purpose of such a visit?

The answer is here: France and England, two members of the European trio, do not want a peaceful region.

The tense part is in their favor.

During his visit to Dubai on Friday, December 3, Macron traveled with a large delegation. He was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Finance Bruno Le Myre and Minister of Defense Florence Barley.

Anwar Karkash, advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, told reporters after meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Saeed, also known as MBZ, “I don’t want to give up the gifts of Xmas”.

Following Macron’s meeting with MBZ, France announced that it had signed a 1.616 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates for the sale of 80 Rafale fighter jets. The UAE plans to use these fighter jets to replace their Mirage 2000 fleet.

Political experts called the deal a “big deal”.

After his visits to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, Macron traveled to Saudi Arabia to see MBS, another influential player in the region.

Mohammed bin Salman is one of those who oppose the Vienna talks aimed at lifting the brutal US sanctions against Iran. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have said it is impossible to return to the JCPOA.

Macron was the first Western leader to meet with bin Salman in Saudi Arabia after Saudi writer Jamal Kashoghi was dismantled inside the Riyadh embassy in Istanbul in 2018.

The French president wishes to establish relations with the countries of the Persian Gulf, in particular the American withdrawal from Afghanistan and the immediate withdrawal from Iraq. However, this interest is not limited to France. The British were interested in the well-known principle of “Create a faction then rule”.

These visits – on paper – aim to reduce tensions in the region, but they do not appear to be. During his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Macron had earlier announced that the Vienna talks had collapsed. He advised the parties not to regroup in Vienna immediately. These comments will certainly not help stabilize the region.

In this regard, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Saeed visited the UK last October. During this visit, he met his British envoy, Liz Truss.

These mutual visits worsened the situation in West Asia. The Saudis have stepped up their tests on Yemen, Lebanon is in trouble, and the European troika is pushing for a possible deal with Iran for economic gain.

Tahnun bin Saeed, UAE national security adviser and MBZ right-hand man, visited Iran on Monday. If the UAE wants to restore relations with Iran, it is important not to fall into such a trap.
