Prison escapee Michael Burham is believed to be in the Warren County area, according to an update from the Pennsylvania State Police Saturday afternoon.
Incident control was transferred from the Warren City Police Department to the Pennsylvania State Police on Friday night.
“We ask the public to secure their homes, outbuildings and vehicles at all times.” The soldiers said so in a statement on Saturday.
“Several areas have been vetted and the public should continue to expect an increased police presence throughout Warren County.” The statement explained.
“We have no reason to believe that Burham has left general area” it says in an update from Saturday afternoon. “Burham is a self-taught survivalist with military training and could potentially be stopped in a wooded area.”
They stated that in the update “It’s possible he changed his clothes” from the first jumpsuit and the denim jacket he got away with.
According to police, the US Marshals Service has offered a $7,500 reward – in addition to Warren County Crime Stoppers’ $2,000 – for information leading to his arrest.
“This remains a very fluid and active investigation conducted in cooperation with our law enforcement partners.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 814-728-3600.
