Renan Danielski, a graduate of the Post-Graduate Program in Food Science at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) won the bronze award for 13th International Nutraceutical and Functional Foods Conference and Exhibition, with work Investigate the antioxidant potential and bioactivities of under-explored tropical fruits and their by-products (Study of the antioxidant potential and bioactivities of under-explored tropical fruits and their by-products). Organized by the International Society of Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF) and the Chinese Research Institute Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Jaas), the event was held from October 17-20 and featured online and in-person activities in Nanjing, China.
Renan graduated in Dairy Science and Technology from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and completed his master’s degree at UFSC under the supervision of Professor Jane Block. In your thesis, defended in 2019, focused on the extraction and characterization of carotenoids and phenolic compounds from guava pulp and processing residues. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at Memorial University of Newfoundland, not Canada.
