Cuba yes, blockade no, is the phrase that animates the United States-Cuba International Standards Conference which concludes this Sunday in New York, in another universal effort to end the illegal policy of the White House towards the island. .
In its message of international solidarity with Cuba, various panels addressed the day before specific issues of the island reality, including the new Family Code.
Forming a common front of solidarity organizations and people of goodwill, including Puentes de Amor, with Americans, Canadians and groups from other countries who demand an end to the criminal policy against the Cuban people, is the objective of the participants.
According to Carlos Lazo, in statements to Prensa Latina, different groups from the United States and Canada will talk about their current and future work to demand an end to the blockade.
This meeting takes place at the headquarters of the solidarity association The People’s Forum, in Manhattan, New York, with the presence of more than 150 people, while hundreds of activists from other countries interact virtually via online platforms.
This Sunday will be the closing of the solidarity event, which will address among other topics “Cuba and the battle of ideas – Our tasks and perspectives to end the unjust blockade of the United States”.
Among the presentations will be that of Tamara Hansen, executive member of the Canadian Network on Cuba, coordinator of the Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC), who will address the theme “Building cross-border solidarity with Cuba”.
Lazo will also participate in the monthly caravan movement review against the blockade and other groups will talk about the battle of ideas: Countering the lies and propaganda against Cuba.
The U.S.-Cuban International Conference on Normalization Coalition is a united, all-encompassing effort to fight U.S. sanctions and warmongering against Cuba on all fronts, its supporters say.
We work to forge links and a better understanding between the United States and Cuba and for the normalization of relations, is the message of the participants of this event which brought together dozens of organizations from all over North America and world.
