BRAMPTON, Ont. – Health care and the ouster of Premier Doug Ford were the issues that dominated the Ontario Liberal Party’s latest leadership debate.

The four candidates spent little time attacking each other in today’s debate, instead focusing on issues they have each heard over the past few months.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, considered the front-runner, says she would repeal a public sector wage cap law blamed for health care staffing shortages.

Current Liberal federal lawmaker Yasir Naqvi says he will focus on increasing the number of doctors and nurses while introducing a publicly paid mental health system.

Nate Erskine-Smith says his first budget as premier will focus on health care and housing, saying they are the province’s most complex issues.

Ted Hsu says he would put his early energy into housing, focusing on creating financial incentives to build affordable homes.
