The Canadian Paralympic Committee announced that $100,000 will be distributed to ten sports organizations across Canada to support para-sport programs through the 2024-25 Paralympic Sport Development Fund.
Located in six provinces, these organizations receive grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to help advance specific projects aimed at developing and expanding para-sports in local communities. The funded initiatives will enhance education, improve knowledge sharing, promote athlete development and expand coach education within these organizations. While most grantees focus on a single sport, two organizations received funding for projects that span multiple sports.
“Congratulations to all of the Paralympic Sport Development Fund recipients,” said Karen O’Neill, CEO of the Canadian Paralympic Committee. “As we aim to grow Paralympic sport in Canada and provide greater opportunities for athletes with disabilities to thrive, the efforts of these organizations play a critical role. Their projects will contribute significantly to an inclusive and thriving Paralympic sports environment.”
Funded by the Paralympic Foundation of Canada, this grant program has now provided more than $1.3 million over the past eight years, underscoring the Canadian Paralympic Committee’s commitment to strengthening the Paralympic sports system across the country.
The full list of recipients and their respective projects is available on the Canadian Paralympic Committee website.
