The Chicago Blackhawks traded left winger Anthony Beauvillier from Sorel, Quebec to the Nashville Predators on Thursday Rogers Sportsnet. In return, the Blackhawks will receive a fifth-round pick in the 2024 National Hockey League Draft.
Beauvillier joins his fourth NHL team. He previously played seven seasons with the New York Islanders from 2016 to 2023, two separate seasons with the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023 calendar year and one season with the Blackhawks in 2023-24.
In 45 games this season, Beauvillier has four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. He is a -2 with six penalty minutes, three power play points, 73 shots on goal, 39 faceoff wins, 26 blocked shots, 36 hits, 27 takeaways and six giveaways.
This is the second time this season that Beauvillier has been traded. Ironically, when he was traded from the Canucks to the Blackhawks on November 28, he was also traded for a fifth-round draft pick.
The Predators are red hot right now. They have won nine of their last ten games and are comfortably in a playoff spot. With a record of 36 wins, 25 regular season losses and three overtime losses, they have 75 points. That’s enough for fourth place in the Central Division and the seventh-most points in the Western Conference.
