Company veteran Martin Castro will oversee the country’s commercial, manufacturing and service operations
Tenaris has named Martin Castro as its new president in Canada, where he will oversee all commercial, manufacturing and service operations and oversee a team of about 1,000 employees in the country, according to a press release.
“I am excited for the opportunity to meet, listen and learn from our team in Canada who have worked hard over the past several years to make significant investments to transform our industrial footprint and strengthen our commercial footprint,” said Castro, who will be based in Sault Ste. have Marie. “I applaud their achievements and look forward to working with everyone to advance Tenaris’ positioning.”
In 2022, Tenaris embarked on a series of investments, including $150 million in Canada, to centralize its seamless and electric resistance welding tube fabrication operations under one roof in Ontario.
Castro joined Tenaris in Argentina in 2007 as senior analyst for global markets. In 2008, he relocated to the United States, where he held various planning and sales roles, including commercial vice president. He was also Managing Director of Tenaris operations in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Born in Argentina, Castro graduated in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires. He received his finance specialization degree from Universidad de San Andrés in Argentina and an Executive MBA from Columbia Business School in New York City. Castro is a US citizen.
