by Horace Rogers

The St Albans Crokinole Open and Doubles Championship takes place tomorrow (Saturday December 2nd) at the Chiswell Green Community Center in Chiswell Green.

The first UK-based doubles championship will take place as the city takes part in the 2023 UK Crokinole Tour.

The event is chaired by Mike Ray, a St Albans resident and National Committee member, and is completely sold out.

The first event of the tour took place in Scotland in August, the second in Wales on September 23rd.

After St. Albans the tour takes you to Harrogate, Nottingham and Birmingham.

The tour’s website says: “Crokinole UK members love Crokinole as both a game and a sport.”

“We are fascinated by the unique blend of skill, strategy and friendly competition.
